How it Works
Click on the steps below to learn about what to expect when your baby has a circumcision procedure at The Ottawa Circumcision Clinic.

Step 1 - Make an Appointment
- Call our office to make your appointment, or request an appointment through our website.
- We will respond to your online appointment request within 24 hrs.

Step 2 - Consultation
- Consultations include a brief summary of the procedure and expectations where you can get all your questions answered.
- Parents may choose to complete the procedure on the same day or schedule another day.

Step 3 - Pre-Circumcision
- Please arrive 30 -60 minutes before the procedure.
- Dr. Akil will review the consent with parents prior to the procedure.

Step 4 - Procedure
- Your child will be prepared for the procedure.
- Local anesthesia will be administered.
- After the anesthesia has taken effect, the procedure will be completed within 30-40 minutes..

Step 5 - Post-Circumcision Care
- Dr. Akil will discuss post-op care with the family.
- You can read about aftercare for more information.
- Telemedicine phone call follow up within 2 to 4 hours of the procedure.
- In person follow-up appointment in 2 weeks.
- Healing time will take 10 to 14 days and may vary for each child.

Step 6 - Payment
Payment
- Payment is due at the time of appointment and can be made by cash or debit.
- Sorry, we do not accept credit cards.
